Who are we? Midhurst Music Society (MMS) has been providing the Midhurst area of West Sussex with live Choral concerts for the past 48 years.   Many of our concerts require orchestral accompaniment and include orchestral items. This support is provided by local semi-professional musicians and occasionally by other instrumental groups. MMS is directed by Mary Knight. What do we do? We perform classical choral works and part songs,in public concerts and smaller recitals, supported by other training and social activities. We also send representatives to sing with the Petersfield Musical Festival, which give us the opportunity to enjoy performing large choral works. We support young musicians as they begin their musical careers and we want to encourage the appreciation of and participation in choral music in the Midhurst area. How do I join? We welcome new members to sing with us. You don’t have to be able to read music - we will show you how it’s done. Just come and enjoy making music together. Contact our Chairman or Secretary or just come along to a rehearsal. We rehearse on Monday evenings, at 7.45pm, usually in the Methodist Church Hall, North Street, Midhurst.

New singers are warmly invited to join the MMS choir as we develop our programme for 2018 and as we prepare for the 2018 Petersfield Musical Festival at which we will be singing the Mozart “Requiem” and Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb”. Rehearsals are held in the Methodist Church Hall, Midhurst from 7.30 onwards.  New Singers do not have to read Music as full guidance will be given and you are assured of a warm welcome. Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass or even “don’t know” singers will enjoy making music with friends.
